Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada
3pm.
I've spent the day going through old email-- taking care of loose ends-- before I delete the program and download a new version.
An email from Ed Case talked about his meeting Joe Firmage and their discussion of Michael Crichton's book, "Travels". I'm interested in investigating Joe's project-- Intend Change a venture capital firm dedicated to "new
capitalism" - funding organizations that are likely to make a positive social difference as well as a profit.
Ed also sent along a list of people working on far out ideas. I'm focused on other things at the moment, but maybe some day I'll look back at this page, pick a name and see where it takes me.
* PEAR (Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research) Can people
mentally
influence
electronic devices? PEAR says yes & has some very convincing &
fascinating
data to prove it.
* Brian Josephson & Jessica Utts - 2 academics with impressive
credenitals
(1 a
Nobel Laureate) involved in psi research. Josephson is famous for
his work
with supercooled semiconductors & Utts is a professor of statistics
at UC
Davis
Consciouness Research Conference- U of A, Tuscon (excellent
overview,
resources & links)
Sony Esper Lab (now defunct - check out Peter B. Lloyd's excellent
Psi
webpages for good info)
Ray Kurzweil (Kurzweil Technologies, MIT, "The Age of the Spiritual
Machine"
- another fantastic website)
John Walker (founder of autocad, autodesk - some consciousness info
& great
humor)
Brian Josephson & Jessica Utts (very impressive research &
credentials!)
Hal Puthoff & Russel Targ ("frontier" physics + remote viewing)
(Firmage has been supportive of Puthoff's work & the US Gov. has
$upported
both Targ &
Puthoff)
Physics Consciousness Research Group (oldies but goodies - some
weirdness)
Esalen Institute, Big Sur (many interesting seminars & conferences
over the
years)
Jeffery Mishlove PHD (Thinking Allowed interview series *****)
Charles Tart (transpersonal psychology)
Dean Radin (parapsych @ UNLV + Bigelow Foundation $$$ recipient)
Jacques Vallee - one of the very, very few people in UFO research
w/
credibility
John Mack - Harvard Psychologist & expert on Alien Abduction
Syndrome
(credible)
John Lilly - Known primarily for his work w/ Dolphins & also for
Consciousness exploration... (probably briliant but possibly
drug-addled)
Capt. Al Hubbard (an early "johnny appleseed" for LSD & other
psycotropic
substances - the interesting part is his military & OSS background
- check
out info on MKULTRA also)
-----------------------------------------------------
Could Be Bogus, Definitely Weird & Possibly Evil???
Jack Parsons & L. Ron Hubbard (a truly amazing story about one of
the
founders of JPL (jet propulsion lab - pasadena) & the founder of
you know
what)
Ira Einhorn & Senator Arlen Spector (the book about ira is called
"the white
unicorn" - senator spector not only got this guy free on bail, he
is also
credited with being the genius who came up w/ the "magic bullet
theory" for
the Warren Commision - and oddly enough he is one of the few
national
legislators known for supporting the funding of parapsychology
research -
Sen. Laurence Rockefeller & congressman Charlie Rose are 2 others
Andrija Puharich, Uri Geller & "The Nine" - curiouser & curiouser -
check
out Fortean Times sources
John Lear (son of the guy who was responsible for Lear Stereo
(8trak) &
LearJets - one of the least credible UFO people - but a very
interesting
story nonetheless - he has an impressive resume as a pilot, but it
appears
he hit the UFO lecture circuit with the standard mix of weird/bogus
ET
stories in order to get money, booze, ufo groupies & 15
seconds of fame)
