11:34pm. While making dragonflies this afternoon, Dana turned me on to the Llama song, and several websites to help make work play... or something like that:
anticareer.com
benzinger.com
changingcourse.com
cognesis.com
communityjobs.org
fastcompany.com/career
jobhuntersbible.com

Last night, Beth and I saw a flick at the Vic about the life of Howard Zinn, called
You Can't be Neutral on a Moving Train, then
watched the movie Powder at home, and both I recommend. I liked what Howard said about how laws are made by very mortal men, not by God. It is stupid to think we pay $45,000 a year in taxes to keep a kid in jail, more then what it costs to spend someone to the best schools. This dollar figure was given to me by man who knows, Aqeela Sherrills, the executive
director of the Community Self-Determination Institute, who I heard speak at Bioneers. I made a dragonfly for him during the two hour
session and pinned it on him afterward. It's like my calling card. I called him this morning and said, "I was the one who gave you the
dragonfly." He's gonna hook me up with people at the youth incarceration camps in LA. My favorite quotes from that panel
discussion Aqeela spoke at was "Hurt people, hurt people." It could have been Van Jones from the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights that said that, but either way, these
words were to the point.
I also gave dragonflies to Will Roy and Julia Butterfly. I'll invite them to my show Thursday night at Sacred
Space(776 Haight st @ Scott ...9:15pm).
Today I talked to Kate at the Star School on the Navajo Res in Arizona, who is keen to take her students to Roblito after Christmas, so
I'm stoked to make that happen. I was at The Foundation Center a few days ago to
search for grants.

If you have a good memory you may remember me. I definitely remember you.
Especially now that I read of a guy that is kayaking from Santa Barbara,
California to San Jose, Costa Rica.
His web site is www.kayakingforpeace.org
I met you at Stone Island (Isla de la Piedra) some 3 or 4 years ago, and we
talked for a while. I have an ocean kayak too, but not as good as yours.
I think I told you I was a brewmaster in a microbrewery here.
Anyway, hope you are well. You are an inspiration to many.
Salud y saludos,

I'm the 14000th visitor to my homepage since Feb.18.04 and a visitor only registers on the homepage once a day...so who are the rest of you?
Darcy sent this: parade of lost souls, Vancouver, October 30
Stardust sent word about a cacophony society party.
It is now 12:15am on oct. 28th. Michelle, the two Beths and I just finished watching the flick Frida, which was very good. Michelle
will be Frida for Halloween and is wearing her costume sitting here with us.
I spent most of this afternoon chalking propaganda for the slideshow on the sidewalks up and down Haight, between Steiner and Ashbury.
It's always interesting to see what advertising methods work. I've started reading a book called Why do Bad Ads Happen to Good Causes?
