"Unless we change directions, we will end
up where we are going" --Ancient Chinese saying
8pm. Shortly after rolling out of bed, I poured a bowl of cereal, then took it with me across road into the forest, where I sat at the lookout in the warm sun. I love the calming sound of waves rolling in and salty smell of the breeze blowing up from the bay. I spent most of the morning reading Crisis in the Classroom --The remaking of American Education, a book I found at Frenchy's, a used clothing store. When I got bored there... laying on the mossy carpet and blueberry bushes, I climbed 50 feet up a tree to my new crow's nest with the boatswain’s seat. It was a nice change of scene, perched high up on the tallest tree for miles and miles around; I could see the entire city and far beyond. Yet, now that I've seen that perspective a dozen times, even though it be spectacular, it's no big deal. I'm yearning to travel again. End of May and first two weeks of June, I hope to tour the North-Eastern states. L.L. Bean has me down for a show at their Kayak Symposium, so I'll book some other shows around it.
I'm getting tons of junk mail and it's really annoying. This one made me laugh; the first line says: "WITH ALL THE LATEST TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCES, WHY ARE YOU STILL LOOKING AT OUTDATED PORN?"
Junkmail flyers in the mail box make me even more mad because they waste trees. No one in this house has time to look at ads. Here are a couple web sites that show how advertising corrupts media:

My friend Ed sent this, which is worth looking into:
Dear Friends, Family and Fellow HP/Compaq employees,
What amazing times we live in!
Despite all the problems facing our troubled world, I am very thankful to be
alive in this new millennium.
Some of you have already heard about the Disclosure Project but this
information may be new & perhaps even shocking to to most of you.
If this is new to you, and you are willing to take a few minutes to look at
the attached correspondence & the DP website, then I think you will begin to
understand why this project is so important and why it is so important that
good people hear about it and get involved.
Here is a list of the attached letters:
1) Excerpts from a reply Peter Sorenson (Lane County Commissioner and former
State Legislator) sent me regarding
the Disclosure Project.
2) My letter to Commissioner Sorenson
3) A letter I sent to the Mayor & City Council members of Corvallis & the
Benton County Commissioners.
Thanks for your time, and I hope I can also thank you for not disregarding
something this important,
Ed Case

ed,
thanks for the email. i'm at home on a sunday morning, trying to catch up on
a few work items.
...yes, it was an amazing event at the eugene hilton. i know it's
controversial for an elected official to be involved with the disclosure
project, but i think there is a lot we all should be concerned with. as i
mentioned, i have been very concerned about the disclosure of government
acquired information: why isn't there more disclosure? second, i think the
possibilities for path breaking technology to solve very real problems here
are present...

Dear Commissioner Sorenson,
I wanted to thank you so much for your involvement with this important
but controversial issue.
I attended the DP conference at the Hilton last month and was I was so
impressed & thankful.
Even though I had been reading extensively about consciousness research,
parapsychology, classic, quantum & "fringe" physics, conspiracy theory,
memetics and UFO's for a number of years. I was still unprepared for the
impact
of Dr. Greer's presentation - and especially the impact of the videotaped
testimonies. Absolutely amazing - and hopeful!
Your introduction helped the presentation greatly & I have heard many
good things about you since then.
I sent letters (example attatched below) describing the Disclosure
Project (& the presentation at the Hilton) to Mayor Berg, the Corvallis City
Council members and the Benton County Commissioners. It has been a week now
and
I have heard no response from any of them. I did find my letter in the
Corvallis Mail Thread Index so I know it was received. In the past I
have gotten prompt, helpful responses from Mayor Berg - but I think I can
understand the hesitation this time.
In addition to saying "thanks!" and letting you know about my efforts
here in Corvallis - I also had a couple of questions:
First, I would like to ask a favor - Would you be willing to send a note
about the Disclosure Project to Mayor Berg, the Corvallis City Council
members and the Benton County Commissioners? I would like to arrange
some viewings of the Disclosure Project video for them - but I thought a
word
from you would help get a much more favorable response.
I could send you distribution list if it would help. I just e-mailed
them from the city & county government websites.
Second, I was very curious what kind of response you have been getting
from people at the City, County, State level?
Have you gotten favorable responses (or even just a willingness to
examine the evidence) from any other elected officials?
I have been a Cleanroom Technician (Semiconductor Fab) at HP for 13
years - I am curious what kind of response I will get from the many
engineers &
managers I know. So far I have been showing the video mostly to
Maintenance & Production people - despite skepticism from a few people
(which can be
a very healthy reaction) the overall response has been very good.
The videotaped testimonies are mind-boggling despite their
credibility. I think for most people it may just takes some time to really
process and
accept what these heroic people are saying.
Please wish me luck and if you can find the time to write back (or call)
I would be most grateful!

Letter to Corvallis & Benton County officials sent 4/29/02:
Dear Mayor Berg,
I went to an amazing presentation at the Hilton Conference Center in
Eugene on Thursday the 25th of April.
Please take some time to check out The Disclosure Project
(www.disclosureproject.org)
Dr. Greer's presentation on Thursday was introduced by Lane County
Commissioner Peter Sorenson (a former Senator in the Oregon Legislature)
who said that he used to be very skeptical of anything regarding UFO's until
he saw the extremely compelling testimonies (& other evidence) that the
Disclosure Project has compiled.
Dr Greer's group has videotaped testimony from a wide variety of
individuals including: Astronauts (Gordon Cooper & Ed Mitchell), Millitary
officials
ranking as high as Brigadier General, high ranking officials from the
FAA (Federal Aviation Administration), the intelligence communtity & the
aerospace industry. They have testimony from over 400 reputable,
credentialed witnesses
who have been brave enough to speak out despite the many threats & very real
risks.
These men & women are willing to testify before Congress about the
amazing amount of classified information regarding UFO's & ETs - and the
exteme
measures that have been taken to keep the details & discoveries secret.
Gordon Cooper (who flew Mercury & Gemini missions) testifies about what
happened when a UFO landed at Edwards Airforce Base in the 1950's. He
was there with a team of photograpers - they were working on the U2 spyplane
project - and they were amazed to see a UFO set down on the ground. They
got good footage of the landing & takeoff. The film was confiscated & then
(like most of the UFO evidence) hidden away.
After viewing his testimony you have to ask yourself: "Is Cooper telling
the truth, is he lying or is he crazy?"
The amount of detatiled testimony from so many credible, knowledgable
people is staggering. Searching books & websites for this info can be
timeconsuming & frustrating because of all the lies & craziness that is
mixed in with
the factual information. The Disclosure Project (along with some other good
people) have really helped shine a light on what is going on.
Project Disclosure held a press conference on May 9, 2001 at the
Washington Press Club in DC - it got fairly good coverage, but Congress has
failed
to respond openly. Since then they continue to lobby for open Congressional
hearings. They need people to write to their congressmen & senators
asking (or demanding) action on this issue - it makes 9/11/01, the Middle
East,
Enron & any other current political event look like tempests in a teapot
in comparison.
The Disclosure Project website is very good - but their videotapes &
presentations make people's jaws drop as they watch & listen.
If you want to see a copy of the Disclosure Project Video I would be
glad to lend you mine - watching it is an unforgetable experience.
Thank you for your time and all that you do for Corvallis,
Yours Truly,
Ed Case
Here's another email I recieved, that you may want to act on:
Dear Cory,
I'm writing to you from Belize City on behalf of the International Coalition to Save the Macal River Valley to thank you for signing the petition to stop Fortis Inc from building the proposed Chalillo dam in Belize and to ask for your help. May 15, at the Annual Shareholder meeting, Fortis Directors need to hear the urgent message to stop plans for the dam.
There are two immediate ways you can help:
1-Forward this message to people you know and ask them to sign the petition at WWW.STOPFORTIS.ORG. The petition has now received some 2000 endorsements from around the world, and we're hoping to double this by the time of Fortis' shareholder meeting. People are still returning regularly to the site to get updates on the threat to Belize's rainforest, and to read the messages to Fortis that are pouring in.
2-Write to Angus Bruneau Chairman of the Board at Fortis from WWW.STOPFORTIS.ORG (click on Save BioGems) and ask him to cancel plans for the dam.
Now is a critical stage for the efforts to save the Macal River Valley--lawsuits brought by our organization, the Belize Alliance of Conservation NGO's, have succeeded in halting the illegal construction of the dam for now. We are committed to taking our case as far as it needs to go, but we hope that Fortis will work with us to find a better option for the people of Belize: Belizeans still pay Fortis the highest rates for electricity in all of Central America and three times more than Canadians pay. The new dam would only increase these rates.
For an update on the lawsuits, to view the CBC Disclosure or Zone Libre documentaries on the dam, Probe International's complaint of professional misconduct in AMEC's environmental assessment, funded by Canada's foreign aid agency and much more, visit www.stopfortis.org, and click on Recent Update.
Thank you again for your support to save Belize's Macal River Valley. Together, we are making a difference.
Sincerely,
Jamillah Vasquez, Belize Alliance of Conservation NGO's,
for the Coalition to Save the Macal River Valley (see www.stopfortis.org/coalition.html)
