Tucson, Arizona, USA

6pm. At the Climbing Gym, I got route info on the cliffs seen from Ivy's backyard, wrote down numbers of people looking for climbing partners from notices on the buliton board and met Dave, the owner of the Summit Hut, where I hope to do a show in the near future.

Seeking a places to sidewalk slide shows 4th street, Tucson's hipster main drag, I found Knockout Pills in a record shop, and then met Grand Pa Woodstock, who travels with a peace sign, a video camera and TV to show his footage on the street. He is from New York, but lately has been living in a cave near the Mexico border. During our conversation two seperate people approached us Jonesin'. Tucson has a vibe like Austin, but is smaller and without water.

10pm. Travis, the Knockout Pill's lead, suggested I check out Solar Culture, a gallery and stage, but it was closed when I knocked, so I went next door and spent to next two hours chatting with Salvador Duran, and amazing painter from Sonora, Mexico who is interested in the Nayarit FAR OUT School project.
