I’m sick in bed with headache and nausea listening to bombs fall on Baghdad. A rash of fire from above and a reporter’s rapid breathless speech had me pop my head out the bug net to look through a hole in the wall where a dozen bricks are missing-- perfect to see the TV.
War news filled the house till late last night, and was on loud before the sun was up this morning. I’m not going to blame my sickness on the war but it doesn’t help. I vomited last night and today I’ve only felt like eating watermelon and grapefruit. I’ve been in bed all day. Kids have come in more than a dozen times asking for me, but I’m useless. Vicki says lots of people here a sick, possibly due to the change of seasons. Symptoms seem like the flu, with fever and aching bones.
