Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada

11:30am The Hovercraft is lifting off the ground on a cushion of air and spinning back on to the river. We stopped a few minutes ago to break off ice that formed on the cage around the propeller. It is odd for the river to be melted so early in the season. Dad and I are on a joy ride with David Armstrong who his taking his Lady Hawk up the Saint John river to Fredericton, where he is hoping it will be frozen a bit longer to operate tours. The craft moves 45km/h over open water and 75 km/h on the ice. It is challenging to maneuver due to the lack of traction. We can't turn quickly; momentum keeps us going in the same direction even when sideways. People on the ferry and outside fishing shacks stop to gock at us flying by in the UFO. Traffic on the Burton bridge even halted to watch. It's the first I've ever been in contact with Hovercraft. The trip will take approximately three hours. So far we've seen a couple Harbor Seals and a Bald Eagle.

11:30pm Happy Medium CD release party with Tracy.
