Austin, Texas, USA
It has been a day of great conversation and inspiration. I woke up stoked to make a move. I got Blair's house booked for a fundraiser next Friday night and decided to redesign solomax.com to make it a pay to see it kind of deal. I got bills to pay and I'm not free til they disappear.
These are a few excerpts from today:
"There is not a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow," said Justin.
"It is the rainbow," I returned.
It is up to us to determine the purpose of our life.
"Imperialism and American were never supposed to be in the same sentence. It is a complete oxymoron," informed Jared "That changed when Theodore Roosevelt put out the Great White Fleet to be the World's police."
"Since its conception, the United States has been in military conflict every single year," chimed in Reed, who is planning to join the Navy.
"And did you know that in its hay day Britain controlled one fourth of the world's land mass?"
"Our navy is not fighting wars anymore," said Jared, "it's doing drug opps. It's conducting a war against it's own people. Have you ever heard of Henry Kissinger? These people make mafia look like girl scouts. Illuminati-- George Bush lying naked in a coffin; Eyes Wide Shut-- it's like that. His brother was governor of Florida. Where did the elections get messed up? They are all together--- all Masons. None of this is con-incidence; no fairy tale. We have been under martial law since September 11th. Bush's grandfather funded the Nazi's; that's well known. Did you know that Homeland security is what SS means in German?"
"Only 50% of American's vote, and you know how many crazy Christians are in this country...?" explained Reed "So you only need 25% of the population to win, but Bush didn't even get that, he stole the vote. Thousands of black people were mistakenly labeled felons and couldn't vote. One third of Alabama can't vote."
"What are the five biggest problems facing everyday Americans?" Jared threw out to us.
"We don't care enough," answered Reed. "It's always: what can I get from it? We should ask: How have I affected other people? Most say happiness extends from helping other people. Just like it said in National Lampoons Van Wilder: Life is all about relationships."
"The kids of people in jail." I answered.
"My brother was a direct result of society's ills," returned Jared. "He' s a car thief. Wanted to burn the evidence and got arson. Texas is not flexible about families visiting the inmates. The reason I know this is because my brother was in for ten years. If they did [let the family be a part of their lives] they'd be able to rehabilitate them. 70% that are let out are back in after a year."
"Everything I smoke a cigarette it brings me closer to her. She smoked to the day she died," Glen said of his mother who died of cancer from smoking.
"Recycling should be law," Reed commented.
