11:45pm I just back from "home group" at Jon and Heidi's house. They live just over the hill, a two minute walk away, but I met them through the net after finding Heidi's home schooling web site. Every thursday night, young adults from the Vinyard church meet at their house to socialize. Last thursday, there was a bit of discussion about Wicca, and some folks offered Christian perpectives, but tonight there wasn't a word of Jesus preaching. They are very open-minded. We just sat around enjoying conversation, sipping wine and chowin' on cinnamon buns. Some of the ladies when out on the porch for a puff and a few guys watched a scene from Band of Brothers, a TV series downloaded off the web about American Airborne in WWII, directed by Steven Speilberg and Tom Hanks.
So much snow had fallen, one of the cars had to be left for the night. The roads are very slippery. Walking up the hill, I was captivated by the sight of snow lit by a street light. It was like a room with white walls, or a spotlight on a stage surrounded by pitch black. I love fresh snow, so clean and white. It's exciting. Intrinsically I think maybe there won't be school tomorrow.
