12:05pm. I'm listening to a radio show on KPFK 90.7fm called Background Briefing, with the author of "Out of Gas", about oil and finding a replacement when it runs out.
"Anyone one who thinks the Iraq war was about anything but oil must have been living on another planet," says the author.
"They did destroy a perfectly good transit system," the radio host said of car manufactures who bought LA's rail system then shut it down. That was the plot of Roger Rabbit, he mentions.
"Children in Southern California have a 10% deficit in their lung capacity."
1pm. Now I'm listening to an interview about prisoner's high rate of return. "Every week 100 ex-offenders are released with $200 and not a chance," said the woman being interviewed.
It's very informative and you can hear it yourself at kpfk.org, by clicking on "listen live" at the top of the page. Celeste, the woman being interviewed, wrote the cover story in this week's LA weekly.
There's so much information about how things are going wrong... it can be overwhelming and depressing, making you feel like staying in bed, pulling covers over your head, and doing nothing. But, many are waking up. The pendulum is swinging... hard left and fast right. The alarm is ringing.

4:58pm. At the Conscious-life Expo we attended a half dozen seminars, and the last one, by Marc Allen, was one of the more impressive. He wrote a book called the Millionaire Course, and I enjoyed his passionate, yet light-hearted presentation. Marc suggested being focused, but not to be too much in a rush. Moriah bought Marc's book, so my homework is finishing it before I leave.
Here's his 12 steps:
1. Imagine your ideal scene; list and affirm your goals.
2. Write your plan as a simple clear visualization.
3. Discover your vocation and purpose.
4. See the full half glass, the benefits in adversity, and keep picturing success.
5. Live and work inpartnership with all.
6. Avoid management crisis with clear goals and transparency.
7. Love change and learn to dance.
8. Discover your core beliefs, and learn how to change them.
9. Grow at your own pace, with an architecture of abundance.
10. Give abundantly and reap the rewards.
11. Become more aware of the spiritual side of life, the power of prayer, weditation and relaxation.
12. Do what you love to do and success will follow. You can transform your life and your world by doing what you love to do.
Marc also suggested reading "As a Man Thinkith" by James Allen, and "The Architecture of All Abundance" by Lenedra J. Carroll.
Here's another list, handed out on a flyer by Re-evolution, a book store on Ventura Blvd.

The book is called Economic Solutions -- The Incredible Story of: How you and America are being Bankrupted & What you can do to Aviod the Wipeout, by Peter Kershaw. He also suggested I look at craigbhulet.com and rense.com.
