Roblito, Nayarit, Mexico
A couple of the half dozen necklaces I´ve made in the past few days:
Playing in the waves today gave me a taste of the fearfull excitement I experienced during my journey by kayak; much like the way I feel when climbing, out on a limb so alone... but the highs are higher than anything I´ve known. With the Roblito mission behind me, I´m ready to focus southward again.
Surfing a wave, in that moment, there is a sense of urgency--the feeling of wow--I am alive, and an awareness of timing and strength, holding breath, and being sucked out by a rip tide. Waves are powerful, big and noisy. I duck under and it passes over. I smile to myself and look seaward for the next. It has been too long!
Being here feels like going back in time to the old west. Most men wear white cowboy hats. Streets are cobblestone. Horses and cows roam freely. Women cook over a fire. Houses are brick or cement and look ancient. Its a trip! Nothing like travel to change your perspective.
These are common images you´ll see on CD covers.
9pm This is Ana, who I met at Cyber Amigos, and Mr. Yavanni, a hypnotist who is a relative of my friend Horracio Yavanni, who is also a touring hypnotist. Their family, from Romania, has fourty traveling tent shows.
