12:21am. I'm filling my face with spaghetti and Caesar salad, thinking about what to say to the girl who wrote this email:
Can you give me any info or direction on where to find info on gangs in schools? We are noticing some activity that we are concerned about. Kids wearing blue and red, saying they are in the crypts and bloods. Lately fighting in the parks, they line up in 2 rows and go at it. The other day during baseball practice, this happened and they brought out guns and knives! We are worried and want to see where we can find info on this kind of stuff. It just recently came to our area. Any ideas? Thanks and I enjoyed your articles. I also talk to kids without showing weather I agree or disagree and don't say they are bad or anything. I think that's why many in the neighborhood come and talk to me instead of their parents. Although I wish they would talk to their parents, mine do. Take care.

I just got back from Christina's house where we watched Pop and Me, a docudrama about a father and son traveling around the world interviewing fathers and sons. The whole thing was very emotional, with lots of hugging and tears, and it seemed real. It in some parts I thought "This can't be real; it's too dramatic; they must be acting," but I do know the camera can make people act intense, even if not premeditated, just cuz they know the camera is on them, especially people who are making a movie. It definitely inspired me--making me think I could do that.
I want to make a live show on the Internet. I've been thinking about it a lot lately-- solar powered digital video cameras broadcasting live via satellite, freely accessible to anyone one through the net. It could be a series of interviews--people teaching all kinds of stuff or just speaking whatever is on their mind, and trippin' all over the globe. The camera could get passed from one person to the next, running non-stop. It doesn't need tapes, just power, so when the battery runs low, plug it in, replace the battery then off you go again. Each camera is a channel, and maybe viewers could edited it down so others could watch just "The best of...". It's already happening--there's lots of web cams, but I want one I can put on my kayak and take climbing. It's 12:59am-- bed time.
